Energy: Italian-Slovak Workshop in Bratislava 25.11.2018

On November 19, 2018 a Workshop organized by Italian-Slovak Consortium for the Energy Industry in cooperation with Italian-Slovak Chamber of Commerce named Green Transformers: Natural Ester Fluid in Large Power Transformers took place in Bratislava. The workshop was opened by Ms. JUDr. Iren Sarkozy, the chairwoman of the Italian-Slovak Group of Friendship, and Dr. Francesco Corsaro, Deputy of the Italian Ambassador to Slovakia. Company Tamini (Terna Group) is the world’s leader in designing and manufacturing of power transformers. Representatives of Tamini proved that link between technological innovations and respect for the environment is essential not only during manufacturing, but also during electric power transmission, namely in designing and operation of complex machines as transformers which are essential for electric power transmission as well as for safety of the electrical grid and its users. Twenty representatives of Slovak companies engaged in the energy, iron and steel industry attended the Workshop. Fruitful discussion with participants on future cooperation in this industry followed after the presentation.

To Protect and to Help 8.3.2018

SMA continues in its initiative to support Slovak artists performing in Italy as well Italian artists performing in Slovakia through another photography vernissage held in our office premises in Bratislava. Under the vernissage title “To Protect and to Serve”, we have displied selected photographs of Mr. Guido Andrea Longhitano which demonstrate praiseworthy work of the Slovak firefighters and policemen captured in various situations. The event was held under aegis of the Italian Embassy in Bratislava and the opening ceremony was carried out by the President of Fire and Emergency Department and the First Vice-President of Police Department. Guido Andrea Longhitano (born in city Rapallo, Italy) studied at the Genoa University, Faculty of Law and subsequently worked at legal offices in Italy, England and USA. He has lived in Slovakia since 2002 and works as director in a manufacturing company in Poprad. In his effort to contribute to the society he was volunteer of the Emergency Medical Service in Italy (he was awarded golden medal for his services) and volunteer firefighter in California (USA). He is author of several exhibitions and three books: “Incredible Slovakia - Folklórny festival Slovakia” (2012), “Hasiči - Firefighters” (2013) and “Polícia na Slovensku - Slovak Police Forces” (2016). He displayed his photographs in Ostrava during the NATO Days (2017), in Tatranská Gallery, Poprad (May 2017), on the western terrace of Bratislava Castle (May - June 2014) or in the Fiľakovo City Library (November 2015 - January 2016).

Exhibition of Lucia Gardin’s Photographs 31.5.2017

SMA has promoted the photography work of the Slovak artist Lucia Gardin living in Italy by vernissage of her selected photographs titled “EMPATHY - Work in Progress” which captures famous movie celebrities. The event took place under aegis of the Italian Embassy in Bratislava and the opening ceremony was carried out by the new Italian ambassador to Slovakia Mr. Gabrielle Meucci. Lucia Gardin is originally from Bratislava. After her studies at Rome Conservatory, she has been dedicated to photographs since 1989. In 2006, she introduced portrait exhibition titled “Preludio” in premises of the Slovak Embassy in Rome and she subsequently presented these works at Art Film Festival in Trenčianske Teplice. Her photographs have been published in the most important Italian and foreign daily newspapers and weekly newspapers such as Venerdì di Repubblica, Io Donna and Sette del Corriere della Sera, Vanity Fair, Time, Marie Claire, Playboy, Grazia, Vogue and more. She has received many awards in Italy and abroad, among them let’s mention at least 1st prize for best portrait at Venice Movie Stars-Jaeger - Le Coultre Award (film festival in Venice) in 2009. In 2011, she belonged to the artists representing Italy at the 54th Venice Biennale, among personalities portrayed by Lucia Gardin we can find for example Ennio Morricone, Gianfranco Rosi, Alba Rohrwacher, Barbara Bobulová or Yoko Ono. On the vernissage occasion, the artist gave an interview to Italian daily newspaper Buongiorno Slovacchia.

SMA supports arts 5.12.2016

Exhibition of selected works from artists Ingrid Zámečníková and Achilleas Sdoukos took place in our Slovak office premises. The event was held under aegis of the Italian Embassy in Bratislava and we were honored by the visit of H.E. Italian Ambassador Mr. Roberto Martini. Of course, the artists were present as well. Invited guests from Slovakia and Italy were from various business or state fields. Ingrid Zámečníková is originally from Bratislava but after finishing her study at Accademia di Belle Arti she lived for long time in Greece. The artist is dedicated to poetical painting with realistic elements. Even her son Achilleas is devoted to art. Base material of his work is glass. He gets inspiration from nature, he likes to connect glass with rocks, wood and other materials. Antic mythology is his endless source of inspiration. Ingrid Zámečníková and Achilleas Sdoukos displayed their works at various exhibitions around the world, for example in Prague, Athens, Wien and Bratislava. At the moment, you can see their works in the atelier Fenix Glass in Bratislava, Zimná Street no. 3 and of course in our office in the historical center of Bratislava. SMA BILATERAL MEETING BETWEEN ITALIAN AND SLOVAKIAN RAILWAYS 30.9.2016

The workshop “Urban Rail Transport in Italy and Slovakia” was held at the Slovak Embassy in Rome and besides SMA was attended by the representatives of the State Railway of both countries and the companies Trenitalia, Grandi Stazioni, Mermec and Ansaldo STS. The workshop was introduced by the Slovak Minister of Transport, Mr. Roman Brecely and by the Slovak Ambassador, Mr. Ján Šoth. Both parties have presented their projects in this field and made up the priorities and plans until the year of 2020. In addition, the participants have visited the Termini railway station and the Directorate of the State Railways. Later, the Minister Brecely has met his Italian colleague Graziano Delrio, informing him about the priorities of the Slovak Presidency of the EU Council in the Transport and Telecommunication sector. The minister  Delrio noted that the positions of both parties are similar and he promised his support and availability of all consultation related to the Slovak presidency.
